BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
The Spooner Tinworth Business Development Program ideally comprises thirteen three-hour sessions over the course of twenty-six weeks. We find that this schedule allows the identification and implementation of strategies to improve your business to become an integral part of your every day business activities. The typical timetable of topics that we aim to cover during the course of our Program is outlined below. Of course, no two businesses are alike, so the timetable is tailored to the exact needs of your business, as a result of discussions held in the first two sessions. The first session begins with brainstorming in the form of a question and answer process designed to identify the key issues facing your business, clarify your short and long term goals and set Mission and Vision statements. In Session 2, we then put into place an Action Plan outlining areas of action within business and those responsible for implementing them and setting a time frame. In Session 3, we carry out a S.W.O.T. analysis, designed to identify strengths and weaknesses (internal) and opportunities and threats (external). In Session 4, we establish the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) which we will use to monitor the health of your business. This means identifying the key drivers of your business and determining benchmarks appropriate to your business and industry. Sessions 5 to 7 include and extensive financial analysis of existing reporting and measurement systems, the preparation of financial budgets, establishment of breakeven points, review cash flow and an analysis of sales. In session 8 we will show you how to implement our recommendations for changes to your financial reporting systems. Management reports are designed so as to maximise the capture of business data and the benefits of reporting KPIs. Sessions 9 and 10 include a review of key personnel functions, including establishment of organisational and work flow charts, job descriptions and Team I.D.s. I.D. results, used to identify your employees' natural talents, are presented to management and staff to ensure that you are getting the best out of your people. Session 11 is devoted to Marketing strategies. We will help you to identify your unique business difference i.e. Why will customer buy from you? Session 12 follows up with Selling strategies and the Development of your unique selling proposition, allowing you to make the most of leads, conversions and average dollar sales thereby maximizing total sales. The formal program is brought to a conclusion in Session 13 with a review of the issues and strategies implemented to date.
